Series & comic states

Singles and series

A comic starts as a standalone single. Convert to Series (in the sidebar’s More menu) files it under a series with its own issue numbering — #01, #02, and so on. Inky can read the earlier comics in a series, so a new issue can pick up where the last one left off.

The three states

• Draft (amber) — in progress: the script exists but not every page has art yet.
• Ready (teal) — every page is drawn, and the comic is still private. You never mark a comic ready — the state flips by itself the moment the last page’s art lands, and it falls back to Draft if you add a page or rewrite the script.
• Live (emerald) — published to the public Gallery with a shareable link.

The badges appear on your library cards and in the studio header, and the library’s filter chips (Drafts · Ready · Live) use the same colors.

Publishing and unpublishing

Publish is always your explicit choice — nothing goes public on its own. Unpublishing takes the page down immediately but keeps your link reserved, so republishing later brings the same shared URL back to life. See Publishing & export.
